One number that tells you where you stand

When you connect your Microsoft 365 tenant to M365Clarity, the first thing you see is a health score out of 100. It's not a vanity metric — it's a weighted summary of how well your tenant is configured across every feature included in your plan.

The score is calculated from scan results across identity, devices, collaboration, compliance, adoption, and AI features. Each check returns green (configured), amber (needs review), or red (action required). Unknown results — features that require additional permissions or aren't available on your plan — are excluded from the calculation so they don't unfairly drag the score down.

Formula: Health Score = (green + amber × 0.5) ÷ evaluated features × 100. Only features that were actually scanned count toward the denominator.

What the score tells you

A score of 90+ (grade A) means your tenant is well configured with few open items. 75–89 (B) means good baseline with some gaps worth addressing. 60–74 (C) means several features are unconfigured or misconfigured. Below 60 means your tenant has meaningful visibility gaps that are worth prioritising.

The score is not a security audit — M365Clarity is a feature visibility and adoption tool. A high score means you're getting value from your Microsoft 365 investment, not that you're immune to threats.

Plan intelligence

The health score adapts to your Microsoft 365 plan. A Business Basic tenant is scored only against features available on Business Basic. A Business Premium tenant is scored across a broader set including Defender for Business, Intune, and Exchange admin features. You won't be penalised for features your plan doesn't include.

Score trends and history

M365Clarity stores your scan history so you can track whether your score is improving over time. The Score Trend tab shows you how each re-scan has changed your score, and the History tab lets you drill into the results of any previous scan.
